Welcome to Spirit of Yew

In a world that continuously disconnects us from our intuitive cycles and from nature itself, women are experiencing more dis-ease & disempowerment than ever. Cyclical living has transformed my relationship to my body and to nature. It has been a reclamation of feminine power & wisdom.
The Yew Tree symbolises the continuous cycle of death & rebirth, reflecting the inner and outer seasons.
Spirit of Yew weaves together the Eastern practice of Yoga with cycle awareness, seasonal celebrations & community connection. It is a homecoming back to your source of feminine power & intuitive wisdom.
Love, Freya

My Journey
Having grown up on a community eco-farm, I have always been happiest living in harmony with nature and being in tune with the land. However as I journeyed into teenhood and adulthood, this connection weakened; I lived in a large over polluted city, I suppressed my natural cycle through hormonal contraception, and I intoxicated my body week after week. But the connection to myself and to nature was held together by the continuous thread of Yoga… Yoga brought me back home, over and over again.
With determination to change the reality I was living, I moved back to Devon and I removed the hormonal contraception, reconnecting with my natural cycle. I then completed my 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training with the Devon School of Yoga whilst completing my MSc in Occupational Therapy.
I have been working in mental health services for 5 years, including CAMHS, eating disorders, serious mental illness & perinatal services. Through this work I have seen the devastating impact of trauma.
My offerings are informed by the work I do and the experiences I have lived. It is my intention to hold safe spaces that provide opportunities for healing and clarity.
